My Screenprinting Workshop for 2025!

Here are a few images of my successful screen printing workshop 2025 at Bishop Anstey High School, which featured the “paint on” technique.

This technique is particularly suited to the student learning to print their designs, “in repeat”, on fabric for the first time.

The most challenging part was creating a makeshift print bed, so that participants could design and print their border prints on lengths of brown cotton fabric.

Before doing this, we had fun experimenting: using one colour on a flat background, as was well as one colour on a graded background. (A graded background uses two or more colours to create a monoprint.)

With this success, on encouragement from the art teachers, I will design a workshop which results in printing designs in full repeat on cotton yardage; that is, 36in wide brown cotton.

Do enjoy!
